And now for the weather // Best of 2009

The main factor (read: most important although not the only one) playing into the list below is simple: Consistency throughout the entire album. In other words, one or two good tracks are NOT enough, regardless of how incredibly superb they are or how much the band have "evolved". That being said, I'm terribly sorry Animal Collective and Grizzly Bear, but this actually means you. And the likes of Passion Pit . Possibly the other Lady with the ginourmous nose.

Selected tracks from the list below are available here. (at least until I blip another track, in which case you'll have to go to my blip profile, look for the Memory Tapes track and start listening from that point onwards)

Memory Tapes - Seek Magic (Acéphale)
Fever Ray - Fever Ray (Rabid Records)
Salem - Water EP (Merok Records)
Jookabox - Dead Zone Boys (Asthmatic Kitty)
Phoenix - Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix (V2 Records)
Junior Boys - Begone Dull Care (Domino)
The XX - xx (Young Turks)
Delorean - Ayrton Senna EP (Fool House)
YACHT - See Mystery Lights (DFA)
Cass McCombs - Catacombs (Domino)
Double Dagger - More (Thrill Jockey)
Polvo - In Prism (Merge Records)

Honorable Mentions: Morrissey, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Andrew Bird, DJ Hell.

People to watch out for in 2010: Salem, Salem, Salem, Salem!!! With three amazing EPs in 2009 alone, one of which garnered the third spot in the list above, needless to say that I expect something truly amazing coming in the form of a full length release.

Thank you, thank you, thank you to all of those that stop by. I love all of you, your maladjusted ways and your unborn offspring. Now start clicking random links, buying music and giving hugs to complete strangers on the street.

Because that's how magic happens: Music & Love.
